Adult Day Services for Alzheimer's and Dementia - Sanford

Monday-Friday: 7:30am to 4:30pm

SMHC’s Adult Day Service Program promotes the well-being of people with Alzheimer’s and dementia. Participants enjoy different activities in a therapeutic environment designed to maximize their current abilities. For the caregiver, the Adult Day Service Program offers support and education, as well as a break from the responsibility of providing 24-hour care. Total Joint Replacement Education Class

First Thursday of each month: 1:00 to 2:30pm, SMHC Biddeford
Third Thursday of each month: 3:00 to 4:30pm, SMHC Biddeford

Free. An informational educational session in which staff members share information about what patients can expect before, during and after the procedure and stay in the hospital. Information is provided and questions are answered by a team of professionals - an operating room nurse, an occupational therapist and a physical therapist. Weight Loss Surgery Information Session

Second Wednesday of Each Month: 5:00 to 6:00pm;
SMHC Biddeford 1st Floor Classroom

Free. Is weight loss surgery the right decision for you? Have you tried the other weight loss methods and nothing seems to work? If you're considering gastric bypass surgery, then this introductory class is for you. Information will be presented about nutrition, resources, and other topics to help with the lifestyle and emotional adjustments you may face. For more information, call 283-7987.

Most of our programs take place at SMHC Biddeford (One Medical Center Drive), SMHC Sanford (25 June Street) or at one of SMHC's Diagnostic and Therapy Centers in Saco (13 Industrial Park Road), Kennebunk (4 Shape Drive) and Biddeford (9 Healthcare Drive). Locations are noted as either SMHC Biddeford, SMHC Sanford, Saco, or Kennebunk. Other venues are clearly specified. Unless otherwise noted, there is no charge.
