Alzheimer’s Support Group

First Wednesday of each month, 7:00 to 9:00pm
Third Wednesday of each month, 10:00am to 12:00pm

Pavilion Conference Room, 35 July Street, Sanford

Open to anyone that has a loved one diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or any form of dementia. The group helps participants understand the process of the disease and allows for sharing and questions. Those attending the daytime support group are able to bring their loved one with them who will attend the Pavilion’s Activity group during the support group. The group is supported by the Alzheimer Association of Maine. For more information, please call 490-7650.

 Better Breathers Club (Pulmonary Rehabilitation)

Second Wednesday of each month, 1:15 to 2:30pm

SMHC Physicians, 9 Healthcare Drive, Biddeford

Open to anyone interested in learning more about pulmonary disease and improving their quality of life. Small group sessions allow participants to share experiences and learn in a comfortable and caring environment. For more information, please call 283-7773.

Breast Cancer Survivors Support Group

Second and fourth Thursday of each month, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

SMHC Medical Center, 1 Medical Center Drive, Biddeford, Webber Building, 2nd floor Conference

Cancer Support Group - Saco

Second Monday of each month, 1:00 to 2:00pm; SMHC Walk-In Care, 655 Main St, Saco - 2nd Floor Conference Room 

Free. We welcome those affected by cancer and their family/friends. Support, information, and networking will be provided by skilled facilitators. Registration required. Please call Peggy at 283-7320.

Second Thursday of each month, 2:00 to 3:30pm at Huntington Common, 11 Ross Road, Kennebunk

 Southern Maine Chronic Pain Support Group

First Thursday of each month, 6:00 to 7:30pm

 Young Widow and Widowers

Second and Fourth Fridays of each month, 6:30 to 8:00pm at the Cancer Care Center, 27 Industrial Avenue, Sanford

The Center for Grieving Children, in collaboration with the Cancer Care Center of York County, offers a free peer support group for individuals age 60 and younger who have experienced the death of a spouse or partner. Most of our programs take place at SMHC Biddeford (One Medical Center Drive), SMHC Sanford (25 June Street) or at one of SMHC's Diagnostic and Therapy Centers in Saco (13 Industrial Park Road), Kennebunk (4 Shape Drive) and Biddeford (9 Healthcare Drive). Locations are noted as either SMHC Biddeford, SMHC Sanford, Saco, or Kennebunk. Other venues are clearly specified. Unless otherwise noted, there is no charge.
